Açaí and the Tribe to Open in Leeds City Centre This June

Big news for the matcha and açaí lovers among us... viral cafe Açaí and the Tribe will be touching down in Leeds city centre come June! The ultimate aesthetically-pleasing day time spot will open at 88 Vicar Lane as part of the Vicar Lane regeneration scheme, which has already seen a number of high-profile restaurant announcements including Sticks’n’Sushi and Dishoom.

The new Leeds city centre site marks Açaí and the Tribe's latest expansion following successful locations in Manchester and London. Founded in 2021, Açaí and the Tribe has quickly built a strong following, becoming known for its açaí bowls, matcha, smoothies and health-focused menu. Its concept centres around the Amazonian açaí berry, with a menu of thick smoothie bowls topped with fresh fruit, granola and nut butters, alongside speciality coffee and lighter brunch options.

The brand places a focus on organic, sustainably sourced ingredients, with many dishes also catering to vegan and gluten-free diets. Its colourful, visually led food and modern interiors have helped it gain significant traction on social media, particularly among younger audiences.

While full details of the Leeds site are still to be confirmed, existing locations suggest a bright, minimal space designed for both dine-in and takeaway.

The opening adds to growing momentum in Leeds’ city centre food scene, particularly as part of the wider Vicar Lane regeneration, which continues to attract major hospitality brands.

An exact opening date within June has not yet been announced.
