Jerk Junction is opening at Trinity Kitchen tomorrow (12th May) - and there’ll be music, free Caribbean street food and lots of good vibes

Leeds’ lunch scene is getting another new addition this week, as Caribbean street food favourite Jerk Junction officially opens at Trinity Kitchen tomorrow.

Opening from midday on Tuesday 12th May, the brand will bring its much-loved menu of jerk chicken, curry goat and pepper steak to the city centre, alongside live DJs, giveaways and what already sounds like a very lively first day.

To celebrate the launch, visitors will be able to spin a prize wheel with 100 giveaways up for grabs, including free meals, sides, drinks and Jerk Junction merchandise. Leeds DJ collective Hypa Crew will also be playing throughout the opening, with dancehall, garage and R&B bringing the energy into Trinity Kitchen for the afternoon.

If you’ve not come across Jerk Junction before, the brand already has a strong following across Manchester, Liverpool and Wilmslow, known for its Caribbean comfort food and more casual, street-food style setup.

The menu centres around flame-grilled jerk chicken, slow-cooked curry goat and tender pepper steak, all served with rice and peas, dumplings and plenty of sauce. It’s bold, comforting food that feels built for a proper lunch rather than something rushed between shops.

The menu is also fully halal, and the restaurant will be available on Deliveroo once it opens.

Trinity Kitchen has had a busy run of launches recently, and this feels like another strong addition to the mix - especially with Leeds continuing to lean further into more varied street food and casual dining concepts.

And with free food, DJs and Caribbean food landing in the city centre tomorrow, it’s probably going to draw a crowd.
