Mythos Chapel Allerton review - the Greek terrace we'll be spending all summer on

Sometimes you don't need to leave Yorkshire to feel like you're on holiday.

A sunny table, a beer in hand and a table full of Greek food at Mythos in Chapel Allerton was all it took to transport us straight to the Mediterranean for a couple of hours.

We've officially found our local spot of the summer.

While the restaurant inside is beautiful, it's the terrace that completely stole the show. Tucked away from the road and drenched in sunshine, it feels like a little Greek oasis in the heart of Chapel Allerton. The kind of place where you plan to stop for lunch and somehow end up staying all afternoon.

Naturally, we started with the dips. Warm, fluffy pita arrived alongside tzatziki, spicy feta and the house Mythos special dip, and honestly, we couldn't pick a favourite if we tried. The tzatziki was fresh and creamy, the spicy feta packed just the right amount of heat and the Mythos special quickly became something we were putting on absolutely everything.

Next came a fresh Greek salad that tasted exactly how you want a Greek salad to taste - crisp vegetables, plenty of feta, good quality olive oil and simple ingredients done really well - alongside crispy chicken triangles that disappeared from the table rather quickly.

For mains, we couldn't resist the Chicken Gyros Wrap, stuffed with what might just be some of the best fries we've had in a long time. Perfectly crisp, generously seasoned with oregano and impossible to stop eating, they were every bit as good as the wrap itself.

We also shared the Halloumi Board, which arrived piled high with grilled halloumi, rice, fries, fresh salad, warm pita and another generous helping of tzatziki. As if that wasn't enough, we added a couple of lamb chops to the table, and we're very glad we did. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour and the ideal addition to an already brilliant spread.

It's the sort of food that feels made for long, sunny lunches and dinners with friends. Fresh, generous and designed to be shared.

What we loved most about Mythos was how relaxed everything felt. Great food, warm hospitality and an atmosphere that makes it incredibly easy to settle in for a few hours.

While the Yorkshire sunshine continues to make an appearance, this is exactly where you'll want to be.

Whether you're catching up with friends, planning a date night or simply looking for somewhere that feels a little bit like a holiday without leaving Leeds, Mythos should be right at the top of your list. We'll definitely be back before summer's over..
