Nottingham’s Winter Light Trail is returning to Wollaton Hall this Christmas
It might only be September, but we’re officially allowing Christmas plans to enter the group chat.
Nottingham’s Winter Light Trail is returning to Wollaton Hall & Deer Park this November, transforming the historic grounds with a mile-long trail of illuminations, immersive installations and plenty of suitably festive food and drink.
Running from 25th November 2026 until 3rd January 2027, this year’s trail is set to be bigger and brighter, with brand-new installations joining some of the event’s favourite features.
Visitors will make their way through the grounds after dark, with interactive activities, immersive soundscapes and illuminations designed around the historic hall and park. New for 2026 is a whimsical fairytale zone, alongside plenty of larger-than-life installations and photo opportunities along the way.
And naturally, there’s food involved.
Halfway around the trail, there’ll be a festive pit stop, while the main Food Village will be serving sweet and savoury treats from independent traders before and after your walk. Think toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate, mulled wine and festive Yorkshire pudding wraps.
If you’re making a proper evening of it, groups of eight to ten can also book a private mini chalet for an exclusive dining experience.
And yes, you can bring the dog!
One detail we particularly like: selected experiences on the trail are dog-friendly, so there’s no need for your four-legged family member to miss out on the Christmas outing.
Dogs can join their owners for a festive walk through the illuminated grounds, making this a good one to bookmark if your Christmas plans usually need to accommodate a pup too.

Booking: Timed entry applies and advance booking is recommended, particularly for popular dates.
