Planning a trip to the capital? From cosy winter hideaways and Wonderland-inspired afternoon teas to Christmas lights and ice skating, here's what's worth adding to your London itinerary this November.

November is one of our favourite times to visit London. The Christmas lights start appearing, the city's restaurants embrace the colder months and there's a whole host of festive experiences popping up across the capital.

Whether you're planning a weekend away, heading down for some early Christmas shopping or simply looking for something a little different to do, there's plenty happening this month.

From an Alice in Wonderland-inspired afternoon tea with hidden prizes to a cosy winter terrace serving chocolate fondue, here are some of the best things to do in London this November.

1. Step into Wonderland at The Clermont Charing Cross

Afternoon tea is getting a magical makeover this November, as Platform 7 at The Clermont Charing Cross launches its brand new Alice in Wonderland-inspired experience.

Launching on 3rd November, A Curious Afternoon Tea features a beautifully themed menu, from truffle-infused egg sandwiches and smoked salmon on dark rye to 'Eat Me' raspberry and chocolate tarts, apple mousse and freshly baked scones.

During launch week, guests visiting at precisely 3.07pm will receive a complimentary non-alcoholic cocktail, while hidden White Rabbits dotted around the hotel could see lucky visitors winning free drinks, afternoon teas and even overnight stays.

Priced at £70 per person, or £82 with Champagne or a cocktail, it's a lovely excuse for an afternoon with friends.

2. Get cosy at The Royal Horseguards' new winter terrace

If your ideal November afternoon involves twinkling lights, cosy blankets and something indulgent to eat, The Royal Horseguards Hotel has just the spot.

From 1st November, the hotel's beautiful terrace, tucked beside Whitehall Gardens and moments from the River Thames, will transform into a festive hideaway.

The winter menu features comforting sharing platters, including traditional German bratwurst and crispy aubergine Milanese, alongside a warm Belgian chocolate fondue served with fruit, marshmallows and shortbread for dipping.

There's also a tempting selection of hot chocolates, from Salted Caramel to Gingerbread and S'mores, with the option to add a little Baileys for an extra treat.

Open daily from 12pm to 10pm, it's perfect for a relaxed afternoon or cosy evening after exploring the city. It's dog-friendly, too.

Book your table at The Royal Horseguards.

3. Turn up the heat at Hell's Kitchen London and stay at The Cumberland

For a dining experience with a little more drama, Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen London deserves a place on your November itinerary.

Located inside The Cumberland Hotel near Marble Arch, the restaurant brings the excitement of the hit television show to the capital, complete with an open kitchen, theatrical interiors and the famous red and blue teams.

Expect bold flavours, an energetic atmosphere and the chance to enjoy signature dishes including Gordon Ramsay's famous Beef Wellington.

And if you're making a weekend of it, why not stay the night? The Cumberland's central location puts you right by Oxford Street, Hyde Park and some of London's best shopping.

There's also something special coming later in the month, with Hell's Kitchen introducing a Thanksgiving menu for Thursday 26th November.
