Featuring a pastry inspired by Antony Gormley’s ROOM sculpture

The Beaumont Mayfair has launched a new Afternoon Tea in The Gatsby Room, offering a refreshed take on the classic in the heart of Mayfair. The launch follows the opening of Rosi at The Beaumont in 2025, as the hotel continues to develop its food and drink offering.

Located within the hotel, The Gatsby Room is open throughout the day for food and drinks, providing a relaxed setting for Afternoon Tea. The Beaumont is known for its Art Deco design and at its centre is ROOM, a major work by Antony Gormley. Installed on the hotel’s façade, the three-storey high sculpture also forms the bedroom of a suite, where guests sleep inside the artwork itself. The dark, oak-clad design encourages stillness and reflection, offering a rare pause from the pace of the city. Reflecting this, the Afternoon Tea includes a signature ‘ROOM’ pastry, shaped to echo the sculpture. Made with black sesame and strawberry mousse, it’s become the speciality patisserie on the menu.

Priced at £70, the menu also brings together classic Afternoon Tea elements with a selection of sandwiches including cucumber with dill cream cheese, coronation chicken, smoked salmon rillettes, and Yorkshire ham with cheddar and pickles, followed by a savoury of truffled Cacklebean egg with watercress on brioche.

Freshly baked plain and raisin scones are served with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam. Alongside this, a pâtisserie selection of pistachio and raspberry tart, a decadent tropical layer cake with mango, coconut and passionfruit, and an intricately designed gianduja choux bun with hazelnut praline and chocolate mousse – all served in the calm, softly atmospheric setting of The Gatsby Room, accompanied by live piano.

The Afternoon Tea is served daily in The Gatsby Room at The Beaumont Mayfair, with children’s, vegan and gluten-free afternoon teas also available.
