Wild Shore Delamere Review: The Ultimate Day Out For Adrenaline, Chilling & Everything In Between

Fancy swapping your usual brunch date for something a little more… wild? We’ve found the perfect day out at Wild Shore Delamere.
If you’re looking for something a little different to do with your friends, your other half or the kids, put Wild Shore Delamere on your radar. Tucked away in the Cheshire countryside, this watersports adventure hub is basically summer fun turned up to 100 - with wakeboarding, paddleboarding, an inflatable Aqua Park, open-water swimming and, new for 2026, a lakeside sauna and cold plunge.
And yes, we tried it all… well, almost.

First stop: wakeboarding
Our day started with wakeboarding, and if you’re anything like us, the first thought will probably be: there is absolutely no way I’m going to be able to do this.
Thankfully, Wild Shore makes it much less intimidating than it sounds. The cable system pulls you across the lake, meaning there’s no boat involved and no need to wait around for perfect conditions.
There were definitely a few spectacular wipeouts involved (we’ll blame the board), but that’s half the fun. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already know your way around a wakeboard, there are sessions to suit different abilities, with a 15-minute RiDE session costing £20 or a 45-minute Learn 2 RiDE lesson costing £65, including kit.
And honestly? There’s something very satisfying about eventually managing to stay upright for more than five seconds.

Then came the ultimate reset…
After spending the morning throwing ourselves around on the lake, the new Sauna & Cold Plunge was exactly what we needed.
Set right by the water, it’s the kind of addition that takes Wild Shore from being somewhere you go purely for adrenaline to somewhere you could genuinely spend the whole day. Warm up in the sauna, take the plunge, repeat - all while surrounded by the peaceful Cheshire countryside.
It’s the perfect contrast to the high-energy activities and, dare we say it, a pretty good excuse to convince your friends that a day of watersports is actually wellness.

But the fun doesn’t stop there
If wakeboarding isn’t quite your thing, there are plenty of other ways to get involved.
The Aqua Park is essentially an enormous floating playground, complete with slides, obstacles, jumps and a huge 3.8m inflatable tower. It looks innocent enough from the shore, but once you’re on it, expect plenty of slipping, sliding and questionable attempts at keeping your balance. Sessions cost £25.50 per person, including kit, and last 50 minutes.
For something a little more chilled, you can grab a paddleboard and explore the lake. Hire & Paddle costs £25 per vessel for up to two people, with sessions lasting up to two hours and wetsuits and buoyancy aids included. There are also instructed SUP lessons if you’re new to paddleboarding.
There’s even Ringo sessions if you fancy being dragged around the lake at speed on a giant inflatable - because apparently a normal boat ride just isn’t exciting enough. A 15-minute Ringo session is £32 for up to nine people.
Refuel at The Wild Shack
After all that activity, you’re going to need food. Luckily, you don’t have to go far.
The Wild Shack café sits right on the shoreline, complete with a balcony overlooking the water, so you can grab snacks and refreshments while watching everyone else attempt to master the wakeboard. It’s the ideal spot to sit back, soak up the atmosphere and pretend you weren’t the person who just face-planted into the lake.
And that’s what we really loved about Wild Shore - you don’t have to be constantly doing something. You can build your day around a couple of activities, grab a coffee or something to eat, watch your friends on the water and simply enjoy being outside.
So, is Wild Shore Delamere worth the trip?
100% yes.
It’s one of those places where you can arrive with absolutely no idea what you’re getting yourself into and leave already planning your next visit.
For couples, it makes a seriously fun alternative to the usual dinner-and-drinks date. For groups of friends, it’s basically guaranteed entertainment (and a great opportunity to laugh at each other’s wipeouts). And for families, there’s plenty to keep both kids and adults busy, with the Aqua Park suitable from age six and wakeboarding from age six too, subject to the relevant requirements.
