Modern Farmhouse - Alderley Edge Review

If you’re anything like me, Modern Farmhouse has probably already popped up on your radar as one of the best brunch spots in Alderley Edge. It’s one of those places you constantly see looking effortlessly chic online, always busy, always glowing in the sunshine, so I finally went to see if it lived up to the hype. Spoiler: it really does.

We visited on Saturday 21st March, which happened to be one of those perfect sunny spring days, and managed to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating area is exactly what you want from a leisurely lunch spot; relaxed, stylish and made for long catch-ups in the sun.

Drink-wise, I ordered an iced matcha with agave syrup which was genuinely one of the best I’ve had. Smooth, slightly sweet and super refreshing. For food, I went for the tuna flatbread sandwich, and honestly it completely exceeded expectations. Think Joe & The Juice vibes, but elevated. It came packed with feta, jalapeños and red onion, and every bite just worked. Simple on paper, but done really, really well.

The overall vibe at Modern Farmhouse is everything you want from a chic lunch in Alderley Edge. It’s stylish without trying too hard, busy in the best way, and just has that effortless energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. The staff were also amazing, with a special shoutout to Georgia who looked after us and fully made the experience. Iconic.

It’s worth noting that it’s always busy, which honestly tells you everything you need to know. This is one of those places people keep coming back to, and once you’ve been, it’s easy to see why.

And if you want to make a full morning of it, Studio 34 is right next door, so you can squeeze in a Pilates class before heading in for brunch. Ideal, really.

I can’t recommend Modern Farmhouse enough if you’re looking for one of the best brunch and lunch spots in Alderley Edge. It’s got great food, great coffee, a beautiful setting and the kind of atmosphere that just makes you feel good as soon as you walk in.
