Sticks'n'Sushi is coming to Manchester

Manchester is getting its first Sticks’n’Sushi, with the globally recognised Danish-Japanese restaurant group confirming it will open in the city this March in Spinningfields.

Set to open on 30 March in Manchester city centre, the new Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester restaurant will occupy a prominent two-storey corner site in one of the busiest dining neighbourhoods. Designed by award-winning Berlin architects Diener & Diener, the space will combine clean Scandinavian design with Japanese minimalism, alongside a large pergola terrace and bar aimed at all-day dining and drinks.

Founded in Copenhagen by brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek alongside Thor Anderson, Sticks’n’Sushi is known for blending Danish design with traditional Japanese cuisine. The brand already operates multiple UK locations, and the Manchester opening marks another major step in its rapid expansion across the country.

The concept centres around high-quality sushi and grilled skewers, designed for sharing. The Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester menu will feature a mix of sashimi, nigiri and maki, alongside charcoal-grilled “sticks” and curated set menus for groups.

Diners can expect standout dishes including beef tataki with miso aioli, artichoke chips and shiitake & truffle ponzu, as well as kani korokke (crab croquettes with wasabi Caesar). There will also be build-your-own temaki handroll sets, giving guests a more interactive dining experience, alongside a wide selection of grilled meats and seafood.

The drinks menu at Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester will be equally considered, featuring sake, Japanese teas and a range of contemporary cocktails such as a hibiscus margarita and matcha & yuzu spritz. Guests can also expect premium spirits, beer, and the brand’s own-label yuzu pale ale.

This highly anticipated Manchester restaurant opening continues the city’s strong momentum as one of the UK’s leading food destinations, with major hospitality brands continuing to invest in new sites across the city centre.

Bookings for Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester are now open, with the first reservations available from 30 March. Given the brand’s popularity in cities like London and Copenhagen, demand is expected to be high from day one.
