The Glee Club Leeds is turning one - and they’re celebrating properly

If you’re looking for a sign to plan a night out in Leeds, this is it.

The Glee Club is officially turning one this March and, in true Glee style, they’re not doing things by halves. After a seriously strong first year in the city, they’re marking the occasion with a full week of celebrations, big-name comedians and a brand-new food and drinks menu to match.

Since opening its doors in March 2025, The Glee has quickly become one of the go-to spots in Leeds for a night out that’s a little bit different. Think packed-out weekends, genuinely good line-ups and that kind of atmosphere where everyone’s actually there to have a laugh. It’s one of those places that’s quietly become a staple without really trying too hard.

The celebrations kick off from 23rd March and the line-up is exactly what you’d hope for. Big names like Joe Lycett, Russell Kane and Matt Richardson are all set to appear, alongside rising stars including Michael Odewale and Lindsey Santoro. There’s also Mario Adrion bringing an international edge, plus the much-loved World Comedy Clash and a mix of drag shows and live entertainment across the week. It’s very much one of those schedules where you could easily go more than once and see something completely different each time.

What makes The Glee stand out is that it’s not just about the comedy, it’s the whole night. To mark the birthday, they’re also launching a brand-new food and drink menu, which honestly just makes the whole experience even better. Think bar classics done properly, cocktail pitchers for the table, beer buckets and a solid wine list if you’re feeling slightly more low-key. It’s the kind of place where you can arrive early, settle in and make an evening of it rather than just popping in for a show.

There’s a reason it’s taken off so quickly in Leeds. The Glee Club has a strong reputation across the UK, with some of the biggest names in comedy having performed there over the years, from Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre to Sarah Millican and Jack Whitehall. That experience really shows in how the nights are put together and the calibre of acts they bring in.

Now with regular Friday and Saturday comedy shows, alongside headline acts, live music and special events throughout the week, it’s become one of those places you can rely on for a good night out. Leeds has no shortage of bars and restaurants, but finding something that feels like a proper plan for the evening is a bit rarer, and this ticks that box.

The birthday celebrations feel like the perfect time to go if you haven’t already, or a good excuse to go back if you have.
