Yorkshire food brand HECK! launches a new Easy Mince range for midweek dinners

If deciding what to have for dinner is half the battle, one of our favourite Yorkshire brands HECK! might just have made your midweek routine a little easier.

The family-run brand has launched a new Easy Mince range, designed to take some of the prep out of three classic dinners - spaghetti Bolognese, cottage pie and chilli con carne.

Live in Tesco, Asda and Ocado now, the new range sits somewhere between cooking from scratch and reaching for a ready meal. Each pack comes already seasoned and loaded with vegetables and other ingredients, leaving you to add just a couple of cupboard staples at home.

There are three options in the range, all priced at £6 for 500g.

Easy Beef & Pork Bolognese Mince combines beef and pork with lentils, tomato and herbs, so all that’s left to add is tinned tomatoes, pasta and a little Parmesan. You’ll find it at Tesco, Asda and Ocado.

For something a little lighter, Easy Chicken Chilli Con Carne Mince mixes lean chicken breast and thigh with red pepper, kidney beans, onion and warming spices. Add tinned tomatoes and a few extra kidney beans and dinner is pretty much done. It’s available from Asda and Ocado.

Then there’s Easy Beef Cottage Pie Mince, made with lean British beef, peas, carrots, onion and tomato purée. Simply add beef stock and top with mashed potato for a shortcut to the ultimate comfort dinner. This one is available exclusively at Tesco.

All three are high in protein and gluten-free, while selected products in the range are also a source of fibre.

HECK! co-founder Jamie Keeble said the idea was to make familiar family meals quicker without removing the actual cooking altogether. “Our new seasoned mince gives people a proper head start on the meals they already know and love. It removes the hassle without taking away the enjoyment of cooking, so even on the busiest evenings, dinner feels sorted.”
